"Diverse People — One Faith"
At Verwood Methodist Church we enjoy worshipping our Lord in a variety of ways including traditional and contemporary style worship, music and bible-based teaching.
We would love to welcome you to join our church services (see above for details)) and although we are not able to meet together for our usual coffee mornings, lunches, house groups, and other events we do have fellowship and prayer groups meeting virtually via Zoom.
Throughout December we will be continuing with our Zoom Big Breakfast meetings at 9.30am we are going to be streaming two special services in the lead up to Christmas: A Carol Service on Sunday 13th December and a Nativity on the 20th December. These services will be available as videos on our Facebook page dates to be confirmed.
For those that would like to come to the church services at 11am we have a limited number of seats available to allow us to meet safely — please contact Lynne Ings to book. (Email: firstname.lastname@example.org Tel: 01202 826473)
Verwood Methodist Church is located in the centre of Verwood. It was established in 1909, a hall was added in the 80s and in the 90s the building was extended. We are planning further expansion and renovation to improve the facilities for the church members and the wider community. Verwood Methodist Church is part of the Churches Together in Verwood spreading God's Word in the local community and joint activities.
The Services on Sundays led either by the Minister, Revd Nigel Deller or by Local Preachers from the Circuit or Worship Leaders are varied in style. Our Big Breakfast Services at 9.30am are currently on Zoom and in January we will be resuming live services on Sundays at 11am.
Unfortunately we have had to cancel our normal activities either in the church premises or in members' homes. But we continue to meet as fellowship groups and prayer meetings on Zoom.
Once the current pandemic is over we will look forward to meeting again in person and the following information gives a summary of what would go on during a normal week:
On a Tuesday there is a prayer meeting followed by coffee morning to which all are welcome. Tuesday Fellowship group for men and women meets monthly including worship and a talk on an interesting topic.
On Fridays there is a Mother and Toddler Group Scamps.
Monthly on a Saturday there is the Lunch Club where folk can get together for a meal cooked by volunteers from the church. Transport can be provided.
The church premises are used extensively by the Community during the week but unfortunately these have all had to be cancelled
