At our last Fellowship Hour on 19th June 2026, Blandford Methodist Church Lunch Club folk made Bug Hotels. A few weeks prior to the event, we each took home a carton of milk, consumed the contents then washed out the box, bringing it back for the grand making session.
After cutting an opening at the front, the ladies then proceeded to fill the box with toilet rolls cut to size. Once this job was complete, the toilet rolls were filled with a combination of leaves, some new and some dried up, twigs and grass, before decorating the outside of the box with a variety of materials (paints, felt tips and sharpies).
Those who gathered had a good laugh, were very creative and the help offered to those less able was a pleasure to witness.
We concluded our afternoon with a quiz entitled ‘Silly Rules and Regulations around the World’, which proved to be hilarious, educational and great fun.
