On Wednesday 6th of April, family and friends of the late Eric Brown met at Blandford Methodist church to celebrate his life. Eric's funeral, a very quiet family affair, had already taken place in December 2021.
Eric's widow, Jackie, produced an excellent visual display of Eric at various stages of his life for folk to peruse at their leisure and, after a short while, the throng of people gathered were encouraged to continue their conversations whilst partaking of sandwiches and cake that Jackie had provided.
It was lovely to hear the cacophony of sound as people shared memories and stories of Eric who had led a varied and interesting life. But above all it was Eric's faith that shone through. As a Local Preacher for almost 60 years and in every aspect of his life, Eric epitomised how a true disciple of Christ should speak and act.
Donations in memory of Eric were for two charities: Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis and the Research Group at Southampton Hospital – Wessex Interstitial Lung Disease.
