Folk Festival

A huge ‘thank you’ to those who gave so much of their time and energy over the Folk Festival weekend. Our refreshments are well known by many who visit us every year appreciating our reasonably priced drinks, cakes and lunches. Thanks must go to all those who provided homemade cakes for our stall and those who worked hard preparing lunches in the Wesley Hall. Our books and gifts provided interest and helped with the fund raising.

The setting up and clearing up each day was well organised with some of our younger element, particularly those from Hi Ten helping out.

It was wonderful to have dancers on our forecourt for us all to watch as refreshments were enjoyed outside on Saturday including a group of junior dancers and as last year ‘Beat’ a group of street dancers. Sunday, we were entertained by musicians along with activities for children outside while inside in the Sanctuary we had many families enjoying ‘Mad 4 Animals’. Children loved seeing various animals including snakes and tarantulas with parents watching on.

The dry weather was very welcome as we welcomed people from near and far. We made a profit of just over £1,800 of which £1,000 is going to our chosen charity ‘Faithworks’ and the balance to our own church funds.
