For those gathered at Barton on Sea Methodist Church on the evening of Saturday 5th August a real treat was about to unfold. The Christchurch and District Band, resplendent in their black and gold outfits and under the baton of Mr. Michael White delightfully entertained.
The programme was wide-ranging with highlights from the musical Oliver, military marches, ska music by the group Madness to the closing of the event with Hootenanny to name but a few. The sheer diversity of musical skill was such a pleasure to listen to with the added bonus of a variety of soloists on varying instruments adding to the mix.
From a personal point of view my feet didn't stop tapping the whole evening, the spirits of those attending were uplifted, and a really good evening was had by all. The band will be back at Barton sometime in December so, watch out for the advert that should hit the churches/Circuit website in the Autumn.
