Blandford – February Fish & Chip Lunch

On Friday 14th February, Valentine's Day, with the regular Friday Lunch Club supervisor/cook away on a training course, it was good to be able to continue with meeting. We did this by making good use of the local Long John's Fish & Chip shop.

As always at times like this, team effort is vital and greatly appreciated. David put up and laid the tables, giving each place setting a red napkin with a heart shaped chocolate laid on the top. Sheila served tea and coffee, Rona helped Joyce with the desserts, whilst Pat and Brian welcomed folk and ticked them off the list. David, Brian and Joyce collected the food and the other ladies quickly and efficiently served it up. It was all hands on deck when it came to the washing and tidying up.

Forty- three people, not only enjoyed delicious fish and chips but also tucked into jam roly poly and custard or fresh fruit salad, rounding off nicely what turned out to be a very enjoyable and social meal with a great atmosphere and a lot of happy chatter.
