Webteam: December 2020
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
We are still very much in the season of Christmas and as we "gather" in Spirit and Truth to worship God, we recall the presentation of Jesus in the temple from Luke 2: 25-32. I believe it is important for us to recognise and acknowledge that this act and the participation of Simeon (and later Anna) is a central part of the way Luke presents the significance of the birth of Jesus. Recalling that Luke has "set out to present an orderly account of the events that have been fulfilled among us" (Luke 1:1).
The song that follows the reading and the preaching is "Jesus be the centre" and if we can take its words and apply them to our lives -what a magnificent beginning that will be for us as we prepare to enter 2021.
I wish you all a healthy and blessed 2021,
Phillip
