The weekend of 8th and 9th June saw Wimborne celebrating its annual Folk Festival and as usual the Methodist Church offered their hospitality to participants and visitors to the town. We provided welcome refreshment and light lunches for all those who came through our doors. The homemade cake stall was as popular as ever and this year we offered a quiet space in our sanctuary away from the noise and hubbub of the town's celebrations. Our forecourt space was used for book, jigsaw and gift stalls along with outside seating for refreshments. We were delighted that our efforts raised £1,800 which will be divided between Julia's House Children's Hospice and Lewis-Manning Hospice Care. Some of the money raised will be going towards the cost of the new defibrillator recently installed on the outside front wall of the Church. Many members of the congregation helped oversee the smooth running of the whole event. Our thanks to them. Some pictures are attached.
