United prayer service at the Methodist Church
On Thursday 22nd May the Christians Together in Milford on Sea and Everton organised a prayer service in the Methodist Church. There were participations from members of all four village churches. There were some joyous singing of some well known hymns along with Bible readings from Psalm 119 and Philippians 4.
The focus of the service was on prayer so there was a meditation at the start of the service to quieten people’s minds. Revd Andrew Pottage gave a personal testimony on how prayer had been an important factor at various stages in his life guiding him ultimately into the ministry.
More prayers followed asking for “us to be renewed everyday”, for “a world made new” and “a prayer for the church”. There was then a different version used of the Lord’s Prayer to make us to think more deeply about the words that we are so familiar with.
As with all good Methodist services we were served refreshments afterwards. Our thanks to all who took part and to all of those who attended.
